A most unusual silver hallmarked rowing oar which was obviously produced as a presentation award / gift for a Victorian boating competition. Silver hallmarks for London 1853 with makers initials. Complete with fine quality brown leatherette presentation case, the interior is constructed in blue velvet and it is fitted for the oar. STONEWARE BELLERMINE JUG, CIRCA 1685.

This is a really beautiful mottled brown glazed example featuring the face of the bearded man on the shoulder and large coat of arms on the belly of the bellermine. The jug dates to about circa 1685. Height just under 9 inches. No cracks or repairs, the jug shows light age wear as you would expect after more than 300 years.  read more
