VERY LONG ENGLISH VICTORIAN SILVER SPIRIT FLASK.
This is only the 2nd example I have owned and this one is even longer than the last one measuring approcamatly 15 inches or 38cm long. The obverse side features a design a gentleman with banjo being accompanied by a young lady with a basket in one hand and a fan in the other and below this is the design of cottage with a person looking over the garden fence. The reverse side depicts similar designs but this time the lady is holding only a fan and the gentleman is holding a stick, the lower design is identical to the previous design with the house. The top and bottom of the flask exabits an attractive fluted design. Silver hallmarks for London 1890 and with makers initials, JR SJ. The matching screw stopper depicts two cottages and the original owners initials which are beautifully engraved. A very rare and very long Victorian spirit flask. The wine bottle shown in one of the photographs is for a size comparison. Near mint.
