ANTIQUE SILVER GILT WINE EWER & 2 MATCHING GOBLETS
.A superb military presentation silver gilt English hall marked wine ewer and two matching goblets which are contained in there original high quality presentation box. The ewer is Finley engraved with a foliage pattern and with presentation insciption,SURGEON MAJOR ROBERT LEWER,FROM THE OFFERS OF THE 9TH QUEENS ROYAL LANCERS,KABUL 1880,and with the insignia of the 9th Lancer engraved above this insciption.The ewer features a set of English hall marks for London 1868.The matching goblets feature identical foliage designs,9th lancers engraved insignia and a matching set of Silver hall marks. The ewer and goblets are contained in there original and highly decorative presentation case with carrying handle to the top of the box,originaly there would have been two fastening catches to the box, the lower catch is now partially incomplete, the box interior is factory fitted for the ewer and goblets, the interior of the lid is embossed in gilt with the retailers name and royal coat of arms. Superb set and being named would make an interesting reserch project. Goblet and ewer mint, the box is in excellent condition. [Condition: Near Mint]
