ENGLISH FIGURAL SPIRIT FLASK WITH LONDON PUBLICANS
This very attractive English stoneware spirit flask is modeled as a traveling case or perhaps a purse, the detail is exceptional. The side edge of the flask is impressed with publican or spirit merchants details, S.WEST, TITCHBONE ST, EDGEWARE RD. There is a very minor and small hairline glaze crack on one of the flat edges but other than that it is extremely nice flask and rare being named to an individual. Height just under 5 inches, circa 1840. This actual flask is pictured on page 219 of the book, Stone Bottles 1500 / 1949 by Derek Askey.
